Make up tryouts will be held at NIBCO fields on Saturday July 11th from 10:45am to 12:30pm.  If you missed the first tryouts it is essential that you make this tryout session.  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of tryouts.

All players must try out in their true age group. But, in addition, a player may tryout in an older age group too.

All current club players who are planning on returning, will be required to attend the tryouts.

Pre-Registration will be the week of tryouts at the NIBCO Soccer Fields, Monday June 22nd through Wednesday June 24th from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

NorthWood High School senior Kelcy Heckaman has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bethel College.

Kelcy was a four-year letter winner in both soccer and track at NorthWood and plays her club soccer with FC Indiana.  She has been a two-year high school and club captain as well as two-time Academic All-State.  She was named to the Northern Lakes Conference 1st team in her senior year with 11 goals and 13 assists, setting a single season assist record for the Panthers in the process.  She was also named team MVP for NorthWood.  This winter she was named to the 2009 Plex College Combine All-Star team as a midfielder.

“We are very happy to have Kelcy as a part of the team this fall,” said Bethel head coach Pete Morey. "She is a very versatile player who I would expect will step in and contribute from day one.  She had an excellent visit in the fall and will mesh very well with our returning players.  She will definitely strengthen our midfield with her vision and ability on the ball.”

Kelcy is also a member of the National Honor Society and is the daughter of Jay and Ann Heckaman.  Present at the ceremony were her Northwood high school coaches, Northwood high school’s athletic director, her FC Indiana select travel club coach, her new Bethel College coach, and her parents.

Congratulations !!  We look forward to following Kelcy through her college career.

Congratulations to our U14 Girls for finishing the indoor season with a tournament championship.  They entered the first round with a bye for finishing second place in league standings.  They had two hard fought victories of 2 goals to 1, but the final game was the thriller.  The game was finally put away with a sweet volley goal from Christina Juroff to win the game in Triple Overtime!  This gives the girls a real boost of confidence as they begin spring training next week.

The Indiana State League (ISL) announced the league tables.  FCIYS is pleased to announce our U18G and U15B will be playing in the Premier division of their respective age groups.  Best of luck to both teams!

Congratulations to the U18 girls team for a strong tournament showing.  Both games were intense from whistle to whistle.  The girls played every minute of each match and never let down.  Game 1 was won with only 2 seconds remaining in the first overtime period.  The final go ahead goal of game 2 was scored with 3 minutes remaining.  On the defensive side of the ball, the girls did a good job of clogging the middle.  On the offensive side, they finished the shots they needed to.  The girls are looking forward to indoor session II, the Fort Wayne Indoor 11v11 tournament, and playing the ISL Premier Division this spring outdoor season.

ISL Announced Team Promotions for 2008/2009.  Congratulations to our FCIYS U14 boys for qualifying to be promoted from ISL 1st Division to ISL Premier based on ISL results and State Cup results.  The FCIYS U14 boys have registered for U15B ISL Premiere this December.  Commitment letters will need to be signed to secure your position on this team.  If you are interested in trying out for this team, contact our office @ fciyouthsoccer@verizon.net

The spring season is officially over as of the NISL tournament this last weekend.  Congratulations to the U14G’s for a Runner Up finish (Penalty Kick Shootout) in the Tournament.  If the weather would have cooperated and the championship game could have been played to its completion, we are confident our girls would have been champions!  Regardless, it was a great turnaround season for the U14G team!!  Thanks to all the volunteers for all of their hard work and support this spring.  It was a fun season!

Our U18 girls team posted their Semi-Final WIN against South Central Select (2-0) and their Finals WIN against Westfield Rocks (1-0) on their way to securing the 2008 Indiana Challenge Cup.  Congratulations!

Congratulations to our U14 boys.  They went into a snowy Cleveland the weekend of March 8th, played their hearts out, and came out with the 2008 U14B DII National Indoor Championship.  Nick Wysong was voted MVP of the tournament, with honorable mention to Carlos Suarez and Dustin Miller.
