Application forms

In order to try out, FCIYS must receive the completed player application form, liability release form, and a copy of the player’s identification.  (Either birth certificate or drivers license)

Deposit

A deposit of $50 is required to try out for FCIYS.  If a player is accepted onto a club roster, the $50 is applied to the applicable registration fees. The roster invitation will only remain open for 48 hours.   If a player is invited onto the roster, but refuses the roster spot, the $50 is kept by the club as a tryout fee.   If a player is not accepted onto a club roster, the full amount of $50 will be refunded via mail.

Evaluated Areas

Attitude: 

- Is the player responsive to instruction from coaches?

- Does the player work well with the other players?

Physical:

- A review of a players speed, strength and agility.

Technical:

- Dribbling, juggling, passing, trapping, heading and shooting.

Tactical:

- Offense: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. Positioning, vision and communication.

- Defense: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. Positioning, vision and communication.

Results

If a player is invited to join, the player will receive a phone call or email from FCIYS.  This personal invitation will explain the next steps.

If a player is not invited to join, the player/parent will receive a personalized phone call from the coach.  We hope that the player/parent will accept these difficult decisions constructively and continue to promote the players desire to play soccer.  With hard work, the player can continue to advance and try out again in the future!
